Moods and Dispositions
- The contented and fulfilled
- The restless and unsettled
- Those suffering from stress or bullying
- The target-chasers
- The uncaring
- The under-employed
- The unemployed
- Those who can't wait for retirement
- Those who dread the prospect of retirement
The world of work evokes many responses, at various times in our lives: eagerness, ambition, boredom, stress, satisfaction. These include some of the most effective motivating forces in people's lives - and some of the most destructive de-motivators too. Persons can be enhanced and given life through such experiences, or reduced to fearful anxiety. Most of these reactions can be identified over the whole range of employment, including, of course, the unemployed.
The following group of prayers seeks to address people from all these standpoints. It is perhaps in prayers of this kind that we can express our concern for people across the whole range of industry.
