Brief Biography:

Judith Rossall

I grew up mainly in Cheadle Hulme in Cheshire, before going to Durham University where I completed both my BA and my PhD in Theology. In the middle of my time at Durham I also spent a year at Duke University, North Carolina, where I studied for a ThM. After training at Wesley House, Cambridge I was a Methodist Minister first in the Hemel Hempstead and Berkhamsted Circuit and then in the Guildford Circuit. Whilst in Circuit I was involved in Easter People in various capacities for about 10 years and was also a University Chaplain, a Hospital Chaplain, a District Probationer’s Secretary and taught some short courses at Royal Holloway College.

Teaching & Research:

My PhD was on the theology of John Calvin and I teach Church History and Historical Theology. In addition I teach some sessions on practical ministry. I am currently working on a book about the Christians can understand and respond to sin, guilt and shame.

Publications:

Leisure interests -

I am very interested in all areas of creative writing, not just writing myself but also understanding the process of writing. I’ve written short stories, novels and scripts both for use in worship and for radio. I am involved with Amnesty International. In the last few years I have moved from believing that gardening is housework done outside to enjoying (most) aspects of gardening and visiting gardens. I also thoroughly enjoy both hill walking and Ceroc dancing http://www.ceroc.uk.com/.
