Brief Biography
Sonia Woolley is STETS Tutor in Voice and Presentation Skills, and also Visiting Scholar in Voice and Word at Sarum College. She has combined a career as a professional actress with teaching ordinands at Salisbury & Wells Theological College and STETS. She is a Tutor and Council Member of the College of Preachers, and a tutor of the Voice Care Network U.K.
Career
Sonia was for many years a member of the Salisbury Playhouse company, appearing in more than sixty productions, and in the last five years has directed all three of Benjamin Britten’s Church Parables with the choir in Salisbury Cathedral, as well as an epic “Noye’s Fludde” which was also televised by the BBC.
Leisure Interests
Favourite pastimes include visiting galleries and exhibitions, theatre and opera, and “church visiting” with John Betjeman’s guide in hand. She sings in Salisbury Musical Society and regularly gives recitals of poetry and prose with local choirs and instrumentalist
