Learned Professions
We pray, Lord God, for people of scholarship and learning, who bring their knowledge, skill and experience to the service of others. We remember before you Lawyers, Accountants, Surveyors, Engineers. Through their varied gifts enable our increasingly complex society to operate for the benefit of all. Surround them with your love, so that they may use their knowledge without taking unfair advantage of those to whom their professional work is a deep and fearful mystery.
Guide we pray their professional bodies in setting standards and codes of conduct and practice, and in public education as to the scope and limitations of their work.
