God our Father you have bestowed upon humanity the gifts of curiosity and of intellect, the ability to ask questions and to solve problems, the thirst for knowledge. Through these gifts you have given us many good things some of which we have used carelessly or destructively. We pray for all who are engaged in research: in medicine, science, engineering and the humanities. Strengthen their resolve to pursue their investigations objectively and view their conclusions with due humility. Help them we pray as they wrestle with commercial and political pressures to do, or not to do, work they judge to be unethical. Through their work may all the nations on earth be blessed.
