Generous God, we depend on you for energy to light and heat our homes, to travel and to work. We pray for people who work to deliver to us continuous supplies of energy to enable our complex society to function. Grant them the wisdom rightly to balance the many concerns that play a part in their activities and decision-making, concerns of safety, environmental protection, continuity of supply, and cost. We pray too for those who work to restore and maintain supplies disrupted by severe weather conditions, often in extreme cold and at danger to themselves. We remember those who set and maintain safety standards for their protection.
