God of great wonders, you have set before us a world of immense treasures: literature, painting, sculpture, the theatre and music. We pray for those who write, direct, perform and present, and for those administrators who make it possible. Through their work you enable us to understand and come to terms with ourselves. We pray for those involved in the media - newspapers, radio and television - bringing to our living rooms up-to-the-minute information and the wisdom of the ages, as well as amusement and delight. In their role as reporters and opinion-formers may they have time and space to gather accurate information, and reach sound judgements about their stories, rightly distinguishing between truth and rumour, spin and substance. Grant them the gifts of wisdom, integrity and fairness.
